Since 1968, the Engine Manufacturers Association has been the voice of the engine manufacturing industry on domestic and international public policy, regulatory, and technical issues that impact manufacturers of engines used in a broad array of mobile and stationary applications, including:
- trucks and buses
- marine vessels and locomotives
- farm, construction and industrial equipment
- lawn, garden and utility equipment
- generators and other stationary applications
Through continuing improvements in engine technology and emissions control, EMA's members are the leaders in providing efficient engine power to an environmentally conscious world.
EMA sponsors scientific and technical research to improve engine performance and testing, and is a leading advocate on energy, efficiency and emissions issues. EMA works with government regulators and other interested stakeholders on the development and implementation of cost-effective regulations, test procedures and programs designed to reduce emissions from internal combustion engines and to improve the quality of the fuels and lubricants on which they operate.
